Dance and Movement Workshop

Workshop led by Jo Soares for children aged 6 to 12

Through a series of movement-based activities, participants were invited to explore both individual and collective worlds through exercises focused on identity, human relationships, and the connection between our bodies, the spaces we inhabit, and the many materials and forms of life that compose them.

Grounded in collective listening and exchange, the workshops encouraged each body to move and be moved, and each voice to be heard and to make itself heard. The first session explored creation through movement, voice, sound, drawing, and language. In the second session, developed with the support of Lui L’Abbate, participants worked with found objects gathered from the surrounding environment, engaging in processes of improvisation and creative reuse inspired by gambiarra practices.

Beginning from individual experiences and gradually moving towards collective creation, the workshops celebrated individuality while affirming diversity through encounters that transform, connect, and inspire new ways of being together.
