Using the techniques Catarina emploies in jewelry making, she challenges the participants to construct musical instruments and jewelry, this time experimenting with elements crafted from recycled materials. These instruments can be percussion or primitive stringed instruments created by recycling found objects such as cans, tree branches, seeds, beads, bottle caps, strings, or old boxes. With cuts, glues, and fastenings, whether they are rugged or adorned with plenty of sparkle, they orchestrate this small musical band with imagination.
