Open Workshops
The OSSO studio opened its doors to adventurous children with the Open Workshops, which began to take place regularly on Fridays. These sessions allowed participants to develop small projects based on their own interests and curiosities, always guided by our resident artist-educators. During the Open Fridays, within the scheduled hours, children could come and go freely to start a personal project in the OSSO studio, supported by our educators. The OSSO Open Workshop became a space of free and autonomous use, where children had the opportunity to create individual or collective projects by exploring the many creative possibilities proposed by OSSO and its resident artists.
Paper Musical Instruments Station with Madalena Matoso
Children were offered a world of possibilities for building experimental musical instruments. Using papier-mâché, they created original instruments, tools, and objects, later explored through unique sound compositions and playful experiments.
Textiles and Interaction Station with Rita Olivença
Here, children explored the universe of textiles: hand sewing, embroidery, object-making, and even the basic use of a sewing machine. These practices intertwined with screen printing, engraving, and natural dyeing, while also opening doors to interactive possibilities with programming and electronics.
Experimental Cinema and Animation Station with Lucas Resende
Drawing from cinematic examples, children embarked on an experimental approach to scanography and stop motion techniques, using collages, animated objects, and other materials. They produced short films from start to finish—storyboarding, narrative design, set building, editing, post-production—and concluded with a final presentation of their works.
