Printmaking and Screen Printing with Lucas de Almeida

“The training consists of explaining the basic method of printing techniques in general, and specifically, screen printing and engraving. It involves demonstrating the various phases of the process, the materials required, and the different possibilities through practical exercises. The training also provides both theoretical and practical knowledge on how to apply these techniques with consideration for artistic expression.”

Lucas Almeida, born in 1981, developed a passion for drawing from a young age. He pursued a course in visual arts where he had the opportunity to explore various forms of artistic expression. In 2006, he received an award in the Young Creators competition in the Comic Book category. Since the year 2000, he has been publishing the annual fanzine ‘O Hábito faz o Monstro.’ His creative journey has taken him through various paths, including group exhibitions, experimental 16mm film screenings, live drawing during concerts, mural and canvas painting. In 2009, he completed an internship in New York at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. Currently, he operates his screen printing studio, working on personal projects, authoring books, and other editorial endeavors, in addition to taking on commissioned work.
