DAY 7 | JULY 26, 2025

LEIDA – VOCAL ENSEMBLE CONCERT

LEIDA is an eight-voice polyphonic ensemble directed by Mariana Dionísio, conceived as a space for free and dynamic sonic experimentation. Each piece does not arise from a fixed structure, but rather from the affirmation of a sub-instrument—a set of premises that guide and limit available resources without imposing a rigid formal path. Instead of following a closed script, the sound unfolds through the intention of gesture, summoning objects within a parametrized, plastic, and emancipated instrument.

Its flexible nature allows for an exploratory approach, where each interaction reveals new possibilities of texture, timbre, and dynamics. In this way, LEIDA becomes an organic synthesizer, whose learning never reaches an end, evolving with each manipulation and refinement. This continuous process of discovery transforms it into a singular field of expression, where boundaries are constantly challenged and expanded.

More than a simple instrument, LEIDA is a field of sonic research in perpetual transformation. As the user deepens their understanding of its internal logic, new layers of meaning and functionality emerge, enabling a rich and unpredictable creative experience. Thus, the relationship with LEIDA is not based solely on musical execution, but on intuitive interaction with its multiple facets, making it an instrument that grows and adapts through its own process of exploration.

ENSEMBLE HEMIPTERA – CONCERT

RLLRLRLLRRLRLRLRLLRLRLR is both the title and the score for the performers. This collaboration draws on the work of Julian Sartorius and the Ensemble ET|ET, reinterpreted by Hemiptera through the investigation of the conceptual premise of performance.

The structure of the piece is based on a rhythmic pattern of 23 notes, alternating between the right (R) and left (L) hands, played continuously by percussionists. The sonic narrative evolves through the addition or subtraction of instruments and sound processing, with elements controlling the structure without necessarily playing an instrument.

The fluidity of this sonic modulation alternates between ethereal atmospheres and EDM-like beat drops, expanding possibilities of listening and making the performance highly adaptable to its site-specific context.

TRAVASSOS – DJ SET

After a memorable night of celebration at the last Dias Abertos, the occasion once again called for letting go and dancing without reserve. This time, the challenge was extended to the entire OSSO team: to share, without filters, their most unexpected and repressed musical tastes. With no fixed criteria or requirements, the only guiding principle was simple and essential — to enjoy ourselves together.

A gesture of sharing and union, between the team and everyone who joined the party.

Let’s go.
