DAY 3 | JULY 20, 2025
ANTÓNIO PEDRO + ALBAN HALL – “NORQUESTRA” CONCERT
A group of children from São Gregório created free drawings at the Escola dos Labirintos, filling the page with shapes, lines, and compositions born from their imagination. These expressive and symbolic drawings were then given to musicians who had never seen them before, with the challenge of interpreting them through sound.
In this process, music emerged as a spontaneous translation of images, transforming lines into sounds, rhythms, and melodies, in an exercise of collective improvisation. Without knowing the original intent behind the drawings, each musician interpreted them intuitively, exploring the connection between color, form, and timbre—between visual composition and sonic expression.
The result was a unique dialogue between the arts, where drawing and music met in a space open to experimentation. With no fixed rules, each graphic gesture inspired a sonic gesture, converging into a living, mutable, and collaborative composition. In the end, image and sound ceased to be separate elements, merging into an improvised piece that revealed new connections between imagination, expression, and collective creation.
LUCAS RESENDE – “REGRESSO” – FILM AND TALK
Regresso is a stop-motion animation by Lucas Resende, created with scanography techniques to illustrate the EP Quem me retira os problemas da saudade by Bernardo de Melo. The visual work follows the pianist’s introspective journey during a time of isolation, translating the search for freedom through music into fragmented, moving images.
The film not only reflects on the impact of longing and solitude, but also reveals how sound transcends physical space, becoming a vehicle for emotional expression and the reconstruction of one’s inner world. Through the fusion of sound and image, Regresso offers a deeply sensorial experience, transporting the viewer into a universe of reflection and transformation.
