Open workshop for children from São Gregório Primary School, held at OSSO with guest artist Nuno Bettencourt. – OSSO Colectivo – 1–8 April 2023
“In this workshop we will draw and print directly onto the fabric of cloth bags, to be used and offered through local shops, grocers, bakeries, etc. In this way, we put into practice the idea of an intergenerational dialogue between the community and the learning of an artistic/ecological practice.”
Starting from this premise, the open workshop with Nuno Bettencourt, together with the children of São Gregório Primary School, took place at OSSO. Throughout the session, all stages of printmaking were explored, from plate preparation to the press, as well as the choice of paper and inks. The participants were thus given the opportunity to engrave and print a series of drawings created by themselves.
