Parque: Os cones e outros lugares
Published on the occasion of the exhibition Parque – Os cones e outros lugares by Ricardo Jacinto [25 October 2014 – 11 January 2015, at Plataforma das Artes e da Criatividade / CIAJG, Guimarães].
This book revisits Parque, the most extensive and complex project by Ricardo Jacinto realised up to the time of its publication. The project opened up a previously unexplored territory, emerging as a space for collective and community-based creation. Developed almost without interruption between 2001 and 2007, it brought together three main performative pieces alongside a series of informal presentations that document the sources, materials and concepts that underpin the project.
In Parque, Jacinto combines sculpture, architecture and music, creating works in which viewers are invited to undergo intense and sometimes unexpected perceptual experiences. This book seeks to explore and reanimate that seminal project, offering readers the opportunity to engage with and reflect on Jacinto’s work from multiple perspectives.
