Instead, it unfolds through timbral and textural procedures\u2014at times arrhythmic, at times polyrhythmic\u2014leaning towards a form of reductionist minimalism. Yet the music reaches remarkable levels of intensity, inevitably tearing through the surface of silence. Here, silence is used less as an absence and more as a coordinate along the path that Pinkdraft has set for its navigation of sound.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"552\">Ricardo Jacinto, sound installation artist and mentor of the project, presents here a striking example of new improvisation practices in Portugal, in which influences from art music and contemporary forms intersect, ranging from experimental electronic and electroacoustic music to creative free jazz.
